Polina Umansky, cellist from Odessa, Ukraine, will partner with pianist Diane Earle, artist in residence at Kentucky Wesleyan College, for a duo recital Sunday at 2 p.m. in the College’s Tapscott Chapel. The duo will perform sonatas by Chopin and Grieg, as well as short pieces by Popper and others. The program is the first event in this year’s Dr. Paul W. Hagan Chamber Music Series and is free and open to the public.

Both Umansky and Earle are international performers. Umansky is the new principal cellist of Owensboro Symphony, as well as principal cellist of Lafayette (Ind.) Symphony Orchestras. She also teaches in the Indianapolis area and is an acclaimed solo, chamber music and orchestral cellist. Earle has performed in 9 countries and 29 states and is preparing for three international tours next summer.
