Not many people can say they were part of a 100th anniversary. However, The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce is getting ready to do just that! On Saturday, January 19, they will celebrate their 100th anniversary with an event at the RiverPark Center.

The Centennial Celebration is going to feature a reception in the RiverPark beginning at 6pm that evening. It will be followed by a short presentation that will recognize former Chairmen of the Board of Directors, and a video that captures the history of the Chamber and community. There will also be awards presented for: Chamber Member of the Century, Director of the Year, Joe Lowe Honorary Communicator of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, and the Chamber Young Professional of the Year.

The night will be topped off a Dance of the Decades featuring the Second Street Big Band. Tickets are limited, and the event is black tie optional. To get tickets or for more information, call the Chamber at 926-1860 or click here.

It looks to be a night of fun and memories celebrating a huge milestone for the Chamber. In Owensboro, we are lucky to have several business that have been here since the Chamber started and numerous more that are coming in and will hopefully be here past the Chamber’s 200 year anniversary!

And be sure to join me on the WOMI Morning Show Tomorrow (Friday, January 18) around 7:30 as we talk to Amy Jackson with the Chamber about the Chamber and the Centennial Celebration.
