According to a report by WFIE, the teenager killed in a boating accident Sunday night has been identified. Authorities were called to the "French Islands" (an area of the Ohio River) Sunday afternoon for a water emergency, where the teen had been cut by a boat propeller.

The report states that investigators say 19 year-old, Garrett Ward became entangled in the boat's motor when it was pulling away from the island, causing several injuries. The boat was driven by 22 year-old Christopher Payne of Boonville.

The sheriff's office said Ward died of those injuries before help arrived.

Payne was taken to the Spencer Country Sherriff's Department and has been charged with "boating while intoxicated causing death".

Investigators says that alcohol was determined to be a factor in the incident.
