Award-winning author, GRAMMY nominee, and Kentucky Poet Laureate Silas House will be in Owensboro in May to speak at the Rooster Booster Breakfast.

This morning during Rooster Booster, the City of Owensboro made a BIG announcement. Outdoor ice-skating is coming back to downtown Owensboro this winter. Because of various partnerships, this won't cost tax payers a thing!

Thursday is a big day at Rooster Booster, the monthly breakfast sponsored by Owensboro-Daviess County Chamber of Commerce. The event will be carried live on 1490 WOMI and 1490womi.com. WOMI morning show contributor Kirk Kirkpatrick, after 37 years as host, will will retire from that post and so will his "Good News" phone which rings constantly during his commentary. Dr. James Ramsey will be Thursday's Owensboro Chamber of Commerce Rooster Booster speaker. WOMI will carry the Rooster Booster with K-Zone host Kirk Kirkpatrick at 7:30. Kirk Kirkpatrick spoke at June's Rooster Booster and had some rather funny names that the city has rejected for the renaming of 2nd Street. WOMI carried the talk and recorded Kirk's comments.
