The Owensboro Police Department, community owned and operated since 1817,wants to give the citizens of Owensboro the opportunity to see how THEIR department operates on a day-to-day basis.

 The Department believes that by educating the community, they can foster better communications between the Owensboro Police Department and those they serve.

OPD Offer’s Child Carseat Safety Check

The Owensboro Police Department is about to offer a new service to the community.

July 31 thru  August 3,  several members of the department will beparticipating in a Child Safety Seat Certification class provided by Norton Healthcare located in Louisville, Ky.

August 7th is the 29th annual National Night Out event in Owensboro. 

The Housing Authority of Owensboro, the Owensboro Police Department, the HL Neblett Community Center, Target and various community businesses and organizations team up to both combat crime and strengthen neighborhood ties, with a festival in honor of “National Night Out.” 

 The focus of this event is to raise awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity in the fight against drugs and crime in the community.
