I always enjoy seeing announcements of who makes it on national sports teams, especially teams representing the USA! Well, it seems that congratulations are in order for a local football coach for making it as part of USA Football’s U.S. National Team coaching staff. It was recently announced that Daviess County High School head varsity football coach Marcus Kimbrell has been selected for the position mentioned above.

According to a press release, Coach Kimbrell was selected based on outstanding leadership and character. The team will compete in the second annual Team USA vs. Canada series in Arlington, Texas on February 7-8th. They will face Canadian National Teams during the series.

Another big announcement was the selection of two members of the Daviess County High School football team to participate in the games! Sophomore running back Chase LeCroy and Sophomore running back and defensive back Samuel Spiceson were selected to participate in the games based on outstanding football skill, leadership, and character. They will compete against age-equivalent Canadian National Teams during the series mentioned above.

It is great to see talent from our area taken to the national level. Congratulations to these players and Coach Kimbrell on their selection!
