Local 7 WTVW Making Big Changes to its Lineup

Starting next week, you might be forgiven if you think that Local 7 WTVW starts to look a little bit like a Fox affiliate again, as the station is adding some of that network’s most popular Sunday night shows – The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad – to its syndicated lineup.

The Simpsons, which is America’s longest-running sitcom and animated program, will air in double episodes each weeknight at 7 and 7:30 p.m. CT, except for Friday nights, when the station airs local high school sports.

Family Guy and American Dad will also air in double episodes from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. CT.

King of the Hill also returns to WTVW’s lineup with a single episode each weekday morning at 1:30 a.m.

There are other changes to the lineup as well, and here are a few of those:

-   Steve Harvey’s new self-titled talk show replaces Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures and Swift Justice at 10 a.m.  (Swift Justice moves to 2 p.m., replacing The Nate Berkus Show.)

-    Inside Edition moves to 2:30 p.m., followed by The Insider at 3.

-   Judge Judy will continue at 3:30, 5 and 5:30 but will lose its 3 p.m. episode.

-   It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which is displaced by Family Guy at 10:30 p.m., moves to 2:30 a.m.

WTVW is reducing its dependence on Me-TV programming (which is also carried by WTSN and WYYW) by replacing the classic TV network’s overnight shows (Mission: Impossible, Combat! and 12 O’Clock High) with King of the Hill, It’s Always Sunny, a 30-minute infomercial, and second runs of Inside Edition and The Insider. The station will continue to air some Me-TV shows, but only on weekends.
