Living Wax Museum Tuesday At Audubon Elementary

Second-grade students at Audubon Elementary School will host a Living Wax Museum Showcase on Tuesday, March 20. Performances for students are scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m., with an evening performance for parents and community at 6:30 p.m. The school is located at 300 Worthington Road.

The living wax museum is a culminating activity resulting from 10 weeks of work with social studies content. Second-grade students have researched famous historical figures. Using that information, they have
published brochures, written biographical poems, created individual timelines,  designed posters and composed first-person speeches.

The students will bring this learning together at the Living Wax Museum Showcase by dressing as their figure, reciting his/her speech, and displaying posters and props as guests visit their exhibit.

Amy Haycraft, a second-grade teacher at Audubon, said, “The teachers hope this project will bring history alive for the students and that this will become a yearly event all second-graders can look forward
to.”
