Kentucky Named Worst State For Animal Protection Laws

Website Thrillist has surveyed all 50 states as to what each state is the worst at. For example, Kansas has the ugliest scenery, Nevada has the highest divorce rate (Vegas, hello?!?), and Washington is the worst at liking Justin Bieber, right. So according to this survey and their research, the site names Kentucky as the worst state for animal protection.

Thrillist's research is based on 2013 study from the Animal Legal Defense Fund. However, when I went to look up the 2014 numbers, Kentucky is still ranked 50th in animal protection laws. I have to admit, this is a bit shocking. I can't believe a veterinarian can't report suspected cruelty or fighting. Missouri was ranked with the worst puppy mills.
