Daviess County Judge Execuitve Al Mattingly said he will issue a burn ban beginning tomorrow morning. "The lack of rain combined with extremely hot temperatures and wind makes for a bad suitation", said Mattingly.

"We are asking people to use common sense with things such as fireworks for the next week or two", Mattingly continued.

Judge Mattingly will be a guest on the Joe Lowe Morning Show Friday morning to discuss the ban and how it might affect July 4th festivities as well as this weekends River of Music Party at Yellow Creek Park.

Daviess County is one of 50+ in the State to issue a burn ban. It has been almost a month since the area has seen a good soaking. Several sources are saying if the county doesn't get rain soon it will have a devestating affect on the agriculture industry.

One good note in our phone conversation with Judge Mattingly. The Kentucky Division of Forestry and the Fire Departments have not seen an increase of brush fires in the county.
