We are getting ready to head down to the BBQ Festival - and I remembered that there are a few things that you always need to remember to take with you.

Sun Hat

You should always remember a hat - the KY sun can be brutal.

Extra T-Shirt

Inevitably, you will spill BBQ sauce on the first shirt. Bring a backup.

An Umbrella

I think eight out of the last ten BBQ Festivals were a little on the damp side. You can't go wrong by bringing an umbrella.

Cash

Booths don't take credit cards! Bring the cash, people.

BONUS: Breathable comfy shoes

You'll be doing a lot of walking. Wear the most comfortable, breathable shoes you own!

And, for the love of God, bring your appetite...for EVERYTHING!

Remember, the International BBQ Festival isn't just for BBQ. I mean, you absolutely shouldn't miss sampling ANY of the fine offerings from all the churches that will have been cooking for three days.

But there are so many other things to try as well. So make sure you're starving by the time you get down there.

Polish sausages, gyros, lemonade shake-ups (Dave's personal favorite), funnel cakes, and deep-fried ANYthing! And that's just to name a very FEW!
