There are a lot of things made in Kentucky.  Bourbon, Louisville Slugger baseball bats, wines, crafts, delicious foods and so much more.  And, this September, WBKR is rounding up some of the best homegrown, homespun and homemade products and putting them all under one roof in an exciting new event!  We are proud to present the 2014 Kentucky Made Expo.  It's coming up Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th at the Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club in Owensboro and we are currently recruiting vendors and exhibitors.

OPD Makes Arrest In Operation Broken Heart: National Task Force Effort

Via the Owensboro Police Department:

Owensboro Police Department detective makes arrest in connection with Operation Broken Heart.

Operation Broken Heart is a nationwide effort taking place during the month of May to crack down on child pornography and other sex crimes. There are 61 national task forces that comprise this effort. The Owensboro Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigations are conducted in cooperation with the Kentucky State Police task force.

2014 International Barbecue Festival – Map Included

Friday and Saturday is Owensboro's famous International Barbecue Festival.

And, this year is even better. The  Riverfront is finished. Smothers Park and the new Owensboro Convention Center and Hampton Inn will be showcased to the max.

Great barbecue aromas and thick, blinding smoke will waft through downtown. And, we will be there. WBKR will be broadcasting from the event on both days. As I look back, my favorite year was 2009. I was joined on the air by Kizzy and on the streets by lovely Mrs. Moon.
