It is that time of year again! The International Barbecue Fest is back in downtown Owensboro this Friday and Saturday. And as always it brings with it a variety of fun activities and of course great food!

The Tin Man is running for Congress.
According to a press release, Tin Man Brewing Co. has been selected to take their robotic brews to Washington D.C. to be featured in this year’s Celebration of American Craft Beer event hosted by the Brewers Association. Only fifteen breweries across the nation were chosen to participate in this event on May 15.
As part of their continuing effort to revitalize Franklin Street, and remind the Tri-State that it's a great place to hang out on any given evening, Tin Man Brewing Company and their Franklin Street neighbors, Lamasco Bar and Grill are hosting the first-ever "Rally in the Alley" Music Festival this Friday and Saturday evening.
The Daviess County Relay For Life is coming up Friday, May 17th at Diamond Lake Campground and Resort. The event begins at 6pm and continues through 6am, Saturday the 18th. This is my fourth year as Relay Chairperson in Daviess County and this is our fourth consecutive year at Diamond Lake. And we are thrilled with this year's list of special guests and performers. Comic book stores across Evansville are gearing up for the 12th annual nationwide celebration happening this Saturday known as Free Comic Book Day. It’s the one day a year where publishers offer a wide variety of popular comic book titles, including ‘Batman’ and ‘The Incredible Hulk’ absolutely free.
Join Sutton Elementary School for the 2nd Annual Derby Day 5K! The walk/run event will take place Saturday, May 4th and begins at Rash Stadium. Registration begins at 8:00am and the race begins at 9:00am.

You need to head south to the tiny town of Portland, Tennessee, the "Strawberry Capital". Its a great place to take the family on a day trip - especially since this weekend is the start of the annual Portland Strawberry Festival!
