As the name implies the weekend celebrates Kentucky and Owensboro' Heritage as an important player for more than a century in the Bourbon industry and our love of Jazz. The date is perfect because Thursday June 14 is regarded at the date Rev. Elijah Craig distilled maise to produce the whiskey we call bourbon. (It was named Bourbon because Craig lived in Bourbon County Kentucky.)

This first year event is filled with ticketed and unticketed events. You can pick and choose events that you want to attend here:

Vince Carida, of the Owensboro Bourbon Society is the father of the new event. The New Jersey expatriate was a guest on the Joe Lowe Morning Show Monday and discussed his love for Owensboro and Bourbon. His excitement is contagious.

If you didn't have the chance to hear the interview live we have it posted here.

I hope to see you this weekend at one of several of the events that make up this fun festival.
